1 Locks with a single lift of 4.0m (13ft).  Cataraqui River was diverted from its original route through the canal.  A small dam and later hydroelectric station was built to use the surplus waste water.  The station sits below the weir.  Storage elevator for a grist mill sits on the far side of the weir.  A defensible locks master's house sits beside the lock.

The photos for this pan were shoot over several minuets.  It shows the locks masters allowing a ship to enter by moving the swing bridge.  And then later opening the other end of the lock to lower the water level.
