Winterlude on the Rideau Canal - Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Winterlude is one of Ottawa's way of making the most out of winter in February.
The Rideau Canal in the winter, is the world's largest skating rink and the center of many Winterlude activities.  Other activities include ice caving, & snow sculpture competition, and outdoor performers

In the warm weather months the Rideau Canal is operational moving ships from Ottawa to Kingston.

Feb. 2004

These first two panoramas were taken on Feb 5, a Thursday, the day before Winterlude started.  There were only a few people on the canal.
